Through collaboration with Spatial Media, Formswell was engaged to create a visual communications 3D animated video and visualisation renders for stage 2 of Canberra’s light rail system.

Stage 2a is a 1.7km light rail stretch from Alinga Street station to Commonwealth Park. It is expected to include three new stops in the city and the raising of London Circuit.

Spatial Media’s bespoke Interactive 3D platform was provided alongside the video and visualisations. This responsive, fully-interactive experience allows users to experience the project in real-time.

Testimonial

“For city-shaping projects, like Light Rail to Woden, integrating new infrastructure into an existing urban environment is a complex challenge. When so many stakeholders and community members are involved and invested, it’s crucial to give everyone a clear, accessible vision of what lies ahead. Immersive visuals are a critical tool, which enable everyone—residents, city planners, and industry experts—to have a shared understanding of a project well before a shovel is picked up.

In partnership with AECOM, Formswell, and iCBR, the Light Rail to Woden Project has created a dynamic 3D model that truly brings this vision to life. Formswell played a pivotal role by seamlessly integrating the project’s design into a virtual Canberra, resulting in a powerful tool that has proven invaluable for communication, facilitation, and decision-making.“
