Challenge

The design brief called for functional urban elements that seamlessly integrated into the natural beauty of the waterfront while embodying Canberra’s contemporary aesthetic. These elements needed to balance durability with artistic expression, creating a cohesive identity for the park. Additionally, the project required an engaging visual representation to communicate its vision to stakeholders and the public.

Solution

Formswell delivered an elegant suite of sculptural designs, including bollards, shelters, bike racks, and a boardwalk lighting strip that accentuates the promenade’s serene ambiance. To enhance public engagement, Formswell collaborated with Spatial Media to produce an immersive 3D visual fly-through, allowing the ACT government to showcase the waterfront’s potential through dynamic marketing and outreach efforts. The result is a harmonious fusion of design and functionality, elevating Canberra’s urban landscape.
